Flushing Saturday the weather got just nice enough for me to want to venture outside. Met up with Alexis and Ricky in Flushing to check out some chinese spots.. Pics courtesy of Alexis: Duck bunz Spicy cold noodles, me with a lamb burger with a ton of cumin. This place wasn't even a hole in the wall, it was in the basement of some building. Super sketch, but super delicious. Bakery where we picked up some mochi Battle of the boxes | | Wednesday, March 11th, 2009 | | 12:26 am |

Momofuku Milk Bar
Went w Alexis to check this place out. I'm not the biggest fan of David Chang's other establishments but what the hey. Overall it was satisfying if not more than a little overpriced. Some of cookies for offer blueberry cream, corn, and cornflake-marshmallow-chocolate. (berkshire) pork bun not pictured: chorizo challa + sweet corn cereal milk shake nom nom | | Thursday, February 19th, 2009 | | 8:01 am |

The Limey
I just saw this movie last weekend, and I can't believe I slept on it for so long. This is classic Soderbergh before he got ridiculous with dodging lasers and Che and all that. Terence Stamp wrecking LA. Quality stuff. On that note, I miss LA.. | | Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 | | 11:20 pm |

Frontier
Hands down, my favorite show of 2008 was Macross Frontier. Some of you may remember the television series Robotech when we were growing up, Frontier is basically the latest sequel of the Macross Saga that alot of Robotech was based off of. It's been 25 years since the original series, and Frontier does a good job of updating the series, with alot of references to older ones. This clip taken out of context probably won't make alot of sense and probably looks ridiculous, but its one of my favorite scenes from the entire series..If you've seen the original, you could guess why. Even if you didn't I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it.. Another interesting note, is that the girl who sings the song in the clip is Megumi Nakajima. Half filipina ftw! | | Saturday, January 10th, 2009 | | 4:08 pm |
Full Blooded Night A new watch thanks to Mae, Swatch Full Blooded Night. The PVD bracelet is awesome. The chronograph features I still need to figure out. Good stuff! | | Wednesday, January 7th, 2009 | | 2:28 am |
Happy New Year everyone! Super late pass I know, I've finally gotten a quiet moment to myself since coming back from Vancouver for the holidays. Thanks to everyone over there that took care of me. My friends, family, and most importantly Miss Lawson, who had to put up with me most of my time there ;) Like everyone else, near the end of 2007, I was wondering what would happen in the upcoming year. Especially considering that 07 wasn't the kindest to me. I do have to say that 2008 surprised me in so many ways with what I saw, what I learned, and who I met. Life is funny, but more importantly, life is good. I don't like bothering with resolutions, but I certainly hope that this will be another good one. Regardless, I'm gonna make the best of it. I went through some pictures from last year and decided to share some: This was taken a year ago almost to the day. I took a day off from work and met Jennie in Redbank, for whatever reason, we ended up at the beach for a while. It was really cold. Despite the emo-ness of the picture, I actually had alot of fun that day.. My dad in the Philippines. Because of some weird scheduling, my family was in the PI all at different times, my brother had left by the time I got there, my mom literally got on the plane that I was getting off of, so it was just my dad and I for most of this trip. On my way back from the PI, I stopped over in Taipei for a couple days, roaming the night markets was one of the highlights. Jay and Marlene were kind enough to let me tag along for their trip out to Tahoe. Awesome boarding out there, definitely want to go back. Team INC. Watching these guys play was very inspiring. Field trip to the Guggenheim for my birthday. Feist. One of my favorite shows of the year. Whistler. Can you believe this was in April? So jealous. Fern's Entourage aka FAM The beach rules. It really is one of those things you looked forward to on the weekends, and the first thing you miss on Monday mornings. Brooklyn Banks for no reason. I have clients in the area. Getting to walk around the city all the time for my job is a nice perk. London town. Taken on December 31st. Mae took me to Cypress to go boarding. Fresh snow, clear trails, and the best company =). A great way to close out the year. Til next time.. | | Wednesday, December 17th, 2008 | | 10:21 pm |
2 movies
Let the Right One In I know plenty of people have been watching some other movie about vampires, but trust me, this one is actually worth your money.. Slumdog Millionaire Believe the hype, this is one of the best movies of the year | | Monday, December 1st, 2008 | | 10:54 pm |

Really good times w some fellow americans and thanks to all the Londoners for their hospitality! THEN off to Vancouver after two days on the eastcoast to see Mae for her birthday..Unfortuately by this point I was completely drained, and super jetlagged. Curry-Ya
So, tonight I met up with Alexis for dinner originally intending to eat at RaiRaiKen, but decided to check out Curry-Ya next door. I'm glad we did. This place was good. First semi-decent meal I've had in a while. (you start freaking out when the girl who cuts your hair, your patients, etc notice that you've "gotten bigger" ) Pictures courtesy of Alexis: Lychee Lassi Appetizer: Pumpkin Quiche, Seaweed Salad, Shrimp of Death =( Berkshire Pork Curry YUM! | | Tuesday, October 7th, 2008 | | 11:05 pm |
Radio City
So pretty randomly, I decided to buy a ticket (yes a single ticket) to watch Deathcab for Cutie play at Radio City Music Hall. Luckily I got a great seat in the front center orchestra section in the middle of my row. Go me. I decided not to take my camera because I really would like to spend more time enjoying the performance rather than watch it on a small LCD screen. Nonetheless, I regret not bringing it. haha. Also ran into Aaron who I havent seen in a while.. Anyway this picture from last night courtesy of one Kathryn Yu (I found it on flickr) It was good show, they played a decent mix of songs, although seemed to favor ones from Plans more than anything(although I was happy to hear The New Year, Title And Registration, Cath, etc) . They did play A Movie Script Ending as one of the four(!) encores. So I was pretty happy. Well worth it. Afterwards, I hit up Gray's for a Recession Special. Two dogs with kraut and onions and papaya drink (not juice) Today I checked out Ming's new place at Central Park North and helped her put together her loft bed. Why is it too much for Ikea to add WORDS to their instructions?? Afterwards, went down to 96th n broadway. Got some food from a Taco Truck and chilled on a bench catching up.. Chicken Torta, Beef Steak Gordita, and Horchata. holla. Random thought: I am not mad at that new Kanye joint (thought I'm not sure how i feel if the entire album will be all vocoder style). And how hilarious/cool is it that Ellen got the exclusive on the video! haha. | | Wednesday, September 24th, 2008 | | 1:15 am |
